Why spend money on a condensing boiler?
Condensing boilers are able to turn a higher proportion of gas into heat.
A new condensing boiler can work at 90% – 91% efficiency, compared with 50-80% efficiency achieved by non-condensing boilers. This is achieved through the use of a highly efficient heat exchanger positioned in the flue which traps and re-uses unused heat which would otherwise be lost.
Condensing boilers can save up to 40% on related energy bills. One way of looking at it is this – a conventional boiler, running at, perhaps 60% efficiency, is wasting 40 pence worth of gas for every £1 spent on your energy bill. In comparison, a highly efficient condensing boiler running at 91% efficiency, means you utilising another 31p in the £1 spent on heating.
